Eruption Sequences and Characteristics of Weizhou Island Volcano, Guangxi Province, South of China

Weizhou island, located in the north margin of South China Sea (SCS), is characterized by multi-stage volcanism, several eruption styles and craters, also youngest Quaternary volcanic island China. An on this may pose high risk to life property. However, eruptive history craters number location, their sequence characteristics are still being debated, which important for potential hazard assessment. In present study, field surveys, 40 Ar/ 39 Ar 14 C geochronological studies whole rock composition analysis used investigate sequences associated with each period. Four volcanoes were discovered at Henglushan, Hengling, Nanwan Daling. The Henglushan Hengling produced early weak explosive late effusive eruptions, lavas from these represent foundation island. Conversely, Daling linked multiple phases, hydromagmatic eruptions first last phase a magmatic second phase. pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) deposits virtually cover entire Volcanic activity started Early Pleistocene ended Late Pleistocene. Genome Sequences of the Novel Porcine Parvovirus 3, Identified in Guangxi Province, China
